WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION
This workshop is a follow-up exclusively for those who have completed the first "It Takes a Village…" training. In this advanced experiential workshop, we move beyond the familiar terrain of the brain and nervous system to delve into the deeper layers of the soul, Exploring the unseen forces that have shaped both our parents' lives and our own.
Guided by a non-Eurocentric perspective, we will explore the family soul, understanding the dynamics that repeat across generations through a lens that honors ancestral knowledge and ways of life. This exploration will be conducted entirely through oral transmission, staying true to traditional methods of sharing knowledge, which emphasize deep listening and connection.
As we journey through the complex dynamics of family life, we often find ourselves confronting patterns that seem to echo the experiences of our ancestors. These patterns are not just the result of trauma but also the imprints of our parents’ and ancestors’ souls. By looking beyond the surface, and through the wisdom of indigenous practices, we can begin to understand the underlying energies and unspoken truths that drive these dynamics.
In this workshop, we will:
Explore the Soul of Our Parents: We will connect with the deeper aspects of our parents’ lives, understanding the wounds, desires, and unfulfilled dreams that have influenced our upbringing and shaped our family dynamics.
Uncover the Unseen Forces: We will work to identify and understand the unseen forces at play within our families—those subtle, often invisible energies that perpetuate certain behaviors and patterns. This awareness allows us to break free from cycles that no longer serve us or our children.
Dive Beyond Trauma: Moving beyond the Western understanding of trauma, we will explore what happens when we tune into the soul’s perspective. What can we learn when we feel into the essence of our family members, beyond their actions and our interpretations of those actions?
Transform Our Family Dynamics: By feeling into the soul and the deeper layers of our family history, we will gain insights that empower us to transform our relationships. This transformation is not just about healing old wounds but about connecting more authentically with our children and nurturing their souls in a way that allows them to flourish.
This workshop offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of family dynamics through a non-Eurocentric lens, and to cultivate a more profound connection with your children. It is designed for those who are ready to go beyond the intellectual and emotional aspects of “healing”, embracing a soul-centered approach grounded in indigenous wisdom and enriched through oral transmission. Join us as we explore the rich and often hidden terrain of the soul, and discover new pathways to connection, and love.
WORKSHOP STYLE & APPROACH
This workshop is uniquely designed to be an immersive, oral transmission experience that moves beyond traditional didactic teaching and mental analysis. Crafted for small, intimate groups of no more than 8 participants, it provides a safe and supportive environment for deep personal exploration and connection, guided by indigenous perspectives and ways of life.
Oral Transmission: At the heart of this workshop is the practice of oral transmission, where knowledge is shared through spoken word, storytelling, and direct experience. This method honors ancient traditions of passing down wisdom, fostering a deeper connection to the material as participants engage through listening, feeling, and embodying the teachings.
Experiential Learning: This is not a workshop of lectures or theory. Instead, participants will dive into direct experiences, guided practices, and somatic exercises. The focus is on feeling and sensing the material, allowing the wisdom of the body, spirit, and soul to guide the process.
Somatic of the Soul: Participants will engage with the "somatic of the soul," tuning into the body’s sensations, emotions, and energies as they relate to the deeper aspects of the soul. This approach transcends intellectual understanding, facilitating a more profound and embodied connection with their experiences.
Small Group Intimacy: The small group setting (8 people max) creates an intimate and trusting environment, essential for the vulnerable and transformative work that this workshop entails. This close-knit atmosphere allows for personalized guidance and deeper connections between participants.
Facilitated by Presence: The facilitator’s role is to guide and hold space, leading participants through oral teachings and embodied practices with a focus on presence and deep listening. The emphasis is on being fully in the moment, allowing each participant to experience the material in their own unique way.
Indigenous Lens: The workshop integrates indigenous perspectives, drawing on traditional ways of understanding family dynamics and the soul. Through oral transmission, participants will be introduced to concepts and practices that honor ancestral knowledge and promote lineage connection.
Body-Centered Practices: Participants will engage in body-centered practices such as breathwork, guided movement, and somatic meditations. These practices are designed to help access and process the deep emotions and energies held within the body, connecting them to the soul’s experiences and wisdom.
Integration of Insights: Throughout the workshop, participants will have opportunities to integrate their insights through reflective sharing, creative expression, and group discussions. This ensures that the wisdom gained through oral transmission becomes a lasting part of their ongoing personal and familial healing journey.
