One of the definition of trauma is: Too much , too fast without adequate care. And the place where this too much, too fast is happening is in our body, our nervous system.

Grieving is a natural gift of human nature when we have reached adulthood most of us have had great cause to grieve for lost loved ones, broken dreams, ended careers, relationships, parents we dreamed to have, a body size…. In today’s world, most of us carry grief and do not even know it. It shows up as numbness, anger, shame…We have been trained at a very young age how not to feel. And at really young age we have lost the connection not only with our feelings but with our body.

A somatic grief process, gives space to notice, touch and connect safely with the frozen emotions present in our body to liberate them. Grief work is liberation work. It brings hope and live into our tissues, cells, and muscles.

“…Allowing grief to transform our lives is a sure way of coming back to our fundamental wholeness and living the gifts we were born with. …when something ends, it is always the beginning of something new. Both the end and beginning carry the medicine of personal and collective evolution necessary for each of us to live so fully that “every day, in fact, is a good day to die, and every day is also a good day to be alive.” Sobonfu Somé

THE IMPORTANCE OF SELF-PRACTICE

Somatic, breathwork and nervous system work is not magic, it’s an ACTIVE PROCESS, meaning I do my part by holding space and using my tools get to know your body and teaching you what you need. But to achieve consistent results, you’re also invited to do your part and commit to consistent practice outside of the sessions. Simple exercises or homework will be given to practice between sessions to support and build on the work we do together.
